VB: Red Storm make it Six in a Row with win over Chaminade

SAINT GEORGE, Utah
– Senior outside hitter Alex Shearer (Park City. UT/Park City) had a match-high 21 kills to lead Dixie State College to a 25-18, 25-18, 22-25, 25-20 win over Chaminade University. The win was the Red Storm's sixth in a row.
 
The Red Storm also used a sold performance at the net from senior Lynzee Crosland (Kemmerer, WY/) who had two solo blocks and three block assists. Her tally added to the teams 14.0 blocks.
 
“We played well up front at the nets,” said head coach Darice Pratt. “We battled the whole match and really tried to focus on our side of the court and being more consistent.”
 
The Silverswords got a great performance from outside hitter Crystal Powell who finished the match with a team-high 13 kills. Her efforts were not enough to overcome the play of Dixie State. Chaminade drops to 2-16 overall and 1-10 in PacWest play.
 
Junior outside hitter Brita Jensen (Taylorsville, UT/Taylorsville) had 10 kills and freshman outside hitter Lexi Cain (Saint George, UT/Desert Hills) added nine.
 
With the win, the Red Storm improves to 12-6 overall and 7-3 in PacWest play.
 
The same two teams do battle again tomorrow night in the Student Activities Center. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
