Haynie, Mason goals push DSC past Hawaii Pacific

Red Storm move one game above .500 in the PacWest

Box Score KANEOHE, Hawaii – Dixie State College women's soccer moved above the .500-mark in Pacific West Conference play with a solid 2-0 road win over Hawaii Pacific on Wednesday.

The Red Storm jumps to 4-3 in conference action and 6-7 overall. HPU fell for only the third time in PWC play (5-3-2) and 8-4-2 on the year.

Kathryn Hayni (Escondido, CA/San Pasqual)e put DSC on the board in the 41st minute off an assist from Kelsey Gomer (Sparks, NV/Reed).

In the second half, Mindi Beckstrom (Nibley, UT/Mountain Crest) set up Jennifer Mason (Springville, UT/Springville) for an insurance goal at 63:58.

April Beck (American Fork, UT/American Fork) earned the shutout win in goal by making six saves.

DSC looks to end its Hawaii trip with another win on Saturday against Chaminade University. Kickoff from Honolulu is scheduled for 5 p.m.
