-The #11-ranked Dixie State College women's basketball team rolled to a 87-52 victory over Brigham Young University-Hawaii tonight in PacWest Conference action at the Burns Arena.

The Red Storm (15-1, 5-0) attack featured 10 players scoring with Shanae Vaifanua (Hurricane, UT/Hurricane) leading the way with a game-high 15 points on 7-11 shooting. She also added five assists and two steals in just 19 minutes of action.

The Red Storm started the game on a 2-12 shooting performance and actually trailed 6-5 with 15:28 left in the first half.

Sophomore point guard Gabriella Rodriguez (West Jordan, UT/West Jordan) hit a quick three pointer to give the Red Storm the lead for good and lead the Red Storm on a 22-4 run to pull away and take a 43-22 lead into the half. Rodriguez finished with 12 points in the game.

Dixie State had 17 steals and forced 27 Seasider turnovers and converted them into 32 points on the night.

Richelle Rieben and Kristen Hartley led BYU Hawaii (1-13. 0-5) with 12 points each. The Seasiders shot 38.2 percent from the field and managed to connect on six three pointers on the night.

The Red Storm won the battle of the boards grabbing 44 to the Seasiders 33. Despite starting slow, DSC managed to shot 47.8 percent from the field.

Sophomore Forward Johnna Brown (Las Vegas, NV/Centennial ) earned her sixth double-double of the year with 13 points and 13 rebounds. She also added five assists and five steals. Erica Carlson (Tucson, AZ/Canyon del Oro HS) added five blocks, eight points and five rebounds.

Dixie State will have Friday off before hosting Chaminade University on Saturday night in the Burns Arena. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 PM.
