TODAY'S GAME -The #20-ranked Dixie State College of Utah women's basketball team will travel to the Urban Knights of Academy of Art University. The two are scheduled to tip-off at 6:30 PM MT inside the City College of San Francisco Wellness Center gymnasium.
THE RECORDS-Meeting for the first time in the 2010-11 campaign, The Red Storm are 11-1 overall and 1-0 in the PacWest. Academy of Art is 4-9 overall and 2-2 in the PacWest. DSC won the last meeting 84-67 in Saint George on 2/27/10. DSC also won the last battle in San Francisco 77-69 on 1/16/10. Dixie State holds the series advantage 2-0.
ROAD TRIP: Dixie State is on a three game road swing to the San Francisco Bay Area. Departing on Sunday morning, the team will play Monday at Academy of Art, Thursday at Dominican and Saturday at Notre Dame de Namur. Dixie State went 1-2 on this same road swing last year.
RED STORM WATCH - Dixie State is riding a three game winning streak into tonight's game and without question coming off its biggest win in its young D2 history. The win an 85-72 win over #16 Grand Canyon University. The Red Storm added to its home winning streak by making it 14 consecutive home wins and has not lost a game since the 74-84 loss to then #5-ranked Fort Lewis College on 11/28/09.The Red Storm shot 50 percent from the field and were paced by
Breann Hill (Harrisburg, PA/McDevitt)'s career high 29 points. For Dixie State to be successful they will need to shoot the ball well and minimize their turnovers. The Red Storm like to shoot he long ball and are average 30 percent from behind the arc. Once again
Erica Carlson (Tucson, AZ/Canyon del Oro HS) added four blocks against Grand Canyon and averages 3.5 blocks per game and is ranked 3rd in the nation in that category. Dixie State leads the PacWest in field goal percentage with 44.5 percent and will do all they to can to win the battle of the boards. DSC has a +7.2 margin in rebounding, with Brown averaging 10.9 rpg, good enough for first in the conference.

SCOUTING ACADEMY OF ART - Academy of Art just returned from a Hawaii road trip in which they went 2-2. With wins over Chaminade and BYU-Hawaii and loses to Hawaii Hilo and Hawaii Pacfic. The Urban Knights look to Nicole DeRosier (12.2 ppg) to lead them offensively. She also likes to shoot the long ball by shooting .379 from behind the arc. Look for Verity Peets (11.5 ppg) and Jessica Nolan (11.1 ppg) to add the rest of the offense. The active Red Storm defense will look to put pressure on the front court of the Urban Knights. They average almost 25 turnovers a game. AAU shoots 42.2 from the field, 32.8 from 3PT range 61.9 from the FT line. They also average 69 points per game.
