Daniels earns triple-double in Red Storm victory over Hawaii Hilo

SAINT GEORGE, UT-Freshman Forward Deanna Daniels (North Las Vegas, NV/Centennial) recorded the first triple-double in Dixie State history in a 99-56 whopping of University of Hawaii Hilo.
 
Daniels deed was not your run of the mill triple-double; she had a DSC record 12 steals, 10 rebounds and 10 points. The Red Storm (16-8, 12-3 PWC) also set single game records in team steals with 27 and assists with 26.
 
Senior forward Tanya Clark (Beaumont. CA/Beaumont) hit three first half treys on her way to a game high 17 points and helped push the Red Storm lead to 42-26 at the half.
 
Hawaii-Hilo (7-18, 4-10 PWC) did not have an answer in the second half for the DSC. The Red Storm forced UHH to commit 35 turnovers and was able to convert them into 38 points.
 
Shooting 21-30 which was a stellar 70 percent in the second half, helped catapult the Red Storm to a 48 point lead with 4:27 left in the game. Dixie State would finish the game with their second best shooting average of the year at 55.4 percent.
 
Kirsty Imai led UHH with 10 points and had six steals in the loss.
 
Dixie State will conclude their season on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM against PacWest league leader Hawaii Pacific. Prior to the game Coach Angie Kristensen will honor her seniors Tanya Clark (Beaumont. CA/Beaumont), Jessie Ingraham (Tuscon. AZ/Canyon Del Oro) and Megan Tidwell (Poway. CA/Poway).
