Box Score MONMOUTH, Oregon-November 19, 2010-Johnna Brown (Las Vegas, NV/Centennial ) earned her second consecutive double-double by collecting a game-high 27 points and 11 rebounds and lead the Dixie State College women's basketball team to a 97-85 win over Western Oregon University at the Phoenix Inn D2 Shootout.

Brown hit three consecutive layup's to lead the Red Storm (2-0 overall) on a game opening 20-5 run. Despite turning the ball over 27 times in the game, the Red Storm forced Western Oregon into 30 turnovers. DSC converted those turnovers into 26 points and helped them take a 47-38 lead into the half.

Opening the second half, the Red Storm went on a 19-7 run culminated by Erica Carlson (Tucson, AZ/Canyon del Oro HS) free-throw with 12:47 left, giving DSC its largest lead at 23 points.

Dixie State did most of its damage by scoring 58 of its 97 points in the paint. Helping the Red Storm shoot 52.2 percent from the floor and converting 12-18 from the free-throw line and outrebounding the Wolves 43-34.

Coach Angela Kristensen said, “We didn't play particularly well, but were able to force enough mistakes and capitalize on it to win.”

Western Oregon (0-2 overall) had four players in double-figures. Leading the way was Sara Zahler with 20 points, Rylee Peterson had 18 points and 10 rebounds and Jamie Richardson and Lorrie Clifford had 12 and 10 points respectively.

Dixie State's Breann Hill (Harrisburg, PA/McDevitt) also carded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Sheila Adams (Layton, UT/Layton) had 21 points and Veronica Siqueiros (Phoenix, AZ/Trevor G Brown) had 10 of her own.
