SAINT GEORGE, UT-The Dixie State College women's soccer team welcomed the PacWest first place team BYU-Hawaii to town on Tuesday afternoon. The Seasiders continued their winning ways by defeating the Red Storm 1-0 at Flyer Field at Dixie High School.
In the 77th minute of the match, a Kaci McNeil cross from the right side to a center streaking Natasha Aiono, who then guided the ball to the foot of Britt Edmond on the left hash who found the upper right hand of the goal. The shot gave the Seasiders (6-0-2, 5-0-1 PACWEST) the lone goal of the match.
The Red Storm (7-4, 4-3 PACWEST) and BYUH each had 11 shots for the match, a late effort in the 85th minute by Jordyn Hutchinson just missed the top of the goal, and the shot would have tied that match at 1-1.
The two teams will play again on Thursday night at 7:30 PM at Hansen Stadium on the campus of Dixie State College.
