Jeffress breaks school record with 39 digs in win over BYU-Hawaii

 Laie, HI-The Dixie State College women's volleyball team jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead and fought off a tough Brigham Young University Hawaii team win 3-2 in a Pacific West Conference match by a score of 25-20, 25-15, 13-25, 22-25, 15-7.
 
The first game was close early on but the Red Storm pulled away for the win. Dixie State dominated game two but BYU-Hawaii was even more dominate in the third game as Courtney Skaggs came off the bench to power six kills in the game to spark the win. The Seasiders roared out to a 20-8 lead in the fourth game behind seven kills by Losaline Faka'osi and staved off a furious Red Storm rally to even the match. However, Dixie State blasted out to a 10-3 lead in game five and cruised to the victory.
 
Lauren Hagemeyer blasted 15 kills to lead the Seasiders. Faka'osi knocked down 13 and Skaggs added nine. Faka'osi led the way with 38 of the Seasiders' 103 digs and Skaggs and Lauren Miller each finished with four blocks.
 
Alex Shearer (Park City. UT/Park City) and Brita Noble had 12 kills each to lead Dixie State, now 13-9 for the season and 8-6 in the conference.  Jayci Jeffress (Brighton. CO/Brighton) set a new school record for the Red Storm with 39 kills.

Dixie State improves to 13-9 and 8-6 in PacWest play. The Red Storm will have a week off before traveling to Grand Canyon University to conclude their season.
