Red Storm swept by Hawaii Hilo

HILO, HI-The Dixie State College volleyball had a five match winning streak snapped Tuesday night by PacWest Conference first place squad Hawaii Hilo. The Vulcans only needed three sets to dispose of the Red Storm 25-15, 25-14, 25-18.
 

The Red Storm (12-7, 7-4 PacWest) finished the night with a .036 hitting percentage, committing 16 errors. The usually solid front line of the Red Storm only earned two team blocks. Morgan Hill (Logan. UT/Logan) had six kills and Kimee Clark earned 15 assists.

 

For Hawaii Hilo (15-3, 10-1 PacWest), Leilani Ramsey had 13 kills and Hillary Hurley earned 10 of her own, pacing the Vulcans to the three-set win. UHH hit .232 for the match and had 6.5 team blocks.

 

The Vulcans and Red Storm do battle again tonight. This will be the second match of the four match Hawaiian Islands road trip. First serve is scheduled for 11:00 PM MT. Please check www.dixieathletics.com for updated information.
