SAINT GEORGE, UT-The Dixie State College volleyball team in their final home game of the season made light work of Notre Dame de Namur, winning 25-15, 25-22, 25-20.
The Red Storm (12-6, 7-3 PacWest) dominated from the onset, collecting 12 kills and only committed two errors in the first set. Kimee Clark earned two of her match-high five service aces and Morgan Hill (Logan. UT/Logan) earned five kills in the set. DSC hit a stellar .400 in the set.
Dixie State used excellent defense in taking the next two sets. DSC had four players in double figure digs with Alex Shearer (Park City. UT/Park City) leading the way with 18. Shearer also added three service aces, adding to the Red Storm tally of 12 for the match.
Brita Noble finished with 11 kills and 14 digs, Madisyn Fitzgerald (Mesa, AZ/Mountain View) added nine kills of her own and hit a remarkable .529 for the match.
Leading the way for NDNU (4-13, 2-8 PacWest) for the second consecutive night was Christin Villamayor with 9 kills.
Dixie State will depart tomorrow for a pivotal Hawaii road trip where they are scheduled to take on conference leaders Hawaii-Hilo and BYU-Hawaii. The Red Storm are in currently in third place in the PacWest and will need to win out to have a chance at their first conference championship.
