SAINT GEORGE, UT-Alex Shearer (Park City. UT/Park City) and Brita Noble both collected 12 kills in the Dixie State College volleyball win over Notre Dame de Namur 3-1, 25-21, 25-15, 14-25, 26-24 on Thursday night at the Student Activities Center (SAC).

The Red Storm (11-6, 6-3 PacWest) dominated the first two sets, making only six errors and hitting a stellar .305. DSC jumped out to early leads and never looked back. They were able to capitalize on great team defensive and playing tough in the transition.

Jayci Jeffress (Brighton. CO/Brighton) earned 30 digs, Noble had 24, Brittany Kelly had 15 and Shearer added 14. In transition Kimee Clark had 46 assists and only committed one set error.

After dropping the third set 15-25, the Red Storm worked out of a 6-2 deficit and tied the match at 12-12. The Red Storm looked to start to run away with it on a Madisyn Fitzgerald (Mesa, AZ/Mountain View) (9 kills) kill that gave the DSC match point at 24-20.

The resilient Argonauts (4-12, 2-7 PacWest) battled back to tie the match at 24 on a Christin Villamayor kill, she finished with a match high 23 kills.

Forcing a Dixie State timeout, DSC took the Colleen Stafford serve and converted into a kill by Morgan Hill (Logan. UT/Logan) (8 kills), giving the Red Storm a 25-24 lead.

The second match point for the Red Storm saw Kimee Clark serving and after a short volley, Noble closed the match out kill.

Dixie State finished the match with 10 team blocks and hit a solid .179 for the match. NDNU collected 5 team blocks and hit .142.

The Red Storm will wrap-up their home season tomorrow night at 7:00 PM in the SAC with another match against Notre Dame de Namur.
