VB: Fitzgerald and Noble lead Red Storm to five game victory over Chaminade University

Fitzgerald had 20 kills and Noble finishes with 18 kills

SAINT GEORGE, UT-Playing its third game in four days, the Dixie State College volleyball team needed five games to defeat Chaminade University 22-25, 25-27, 25-23, 25-12, 15-12.

DSC (9-6, 4-3 PacWest) opened the first two sets of the match playing very sluggish and didn't seem like they were ever going to be able to get anything going. Despite the lackluster performance, the Red Storm had chances in each of the frames.

HPU (4-9, 1-5 PacWest) used outstanding play from Allie Board (15 kills) and Peorava Gantt (14 kills) in the match.  Despite leading 2-0 the Silverswords could not hold on.

Dixie State rallied to the last three games behind the play of Madisyn Fitzgerald (Mesa, AZ/Mountain View) who had a game-high 20 kills and Brita Noble who added 18 kills of her own.  Lynzee Crosland (Kemmerer, WY/) entered in the third set and gave the Red Storm a big boost up front. She finished with three kills and had two solo blocks and four block assists.

Kimee Clark added 56 assists and libero Jayci Jeffress (Brighton. CO/Brighton) picked up 30 digs in the match.

The Red Storm and the Silverswords will do battle again tomorrow night at the Student Activities Center beginning at 7:00 PM. Catch all the live action on www.dixieathletics.com for your audio, video, and live stat needs.
