Brown and Daniels combine for 34 in Red Storm loss to Notre Dame de Namur

BELMONT, CA-Johnna Brown (Las Vegas, NV/Centennial ) and Deannna Daniels combined for 34 points as the Dixie State College women's basketball team 2nd half comeback fell short losing a Pacific West Conference tilt to Notre Dame de Namur 64-61.

 

The Argonauts (6-8, 2-1 PACWEST) shot 59% from the floor in the first half building a lead of 31-25 at the break. Dixie State (6-6, 2-1 PACWEST) could only manage 35.7% from the floor taking only six more shots, but could only manage 3-10 from three-point range.

 

In the second half Daniels (14 points, 7 rebounds) and Brown (19 points, 5 rebounds) led a Red Storm charge that would fall just short in the closing minutes. Managing only 4-20 from three-point range, Dixie State couldn't manage to overcome the hot shooting hands of the Argonauts.

 

NDNU had three players in double figures, Katie and Laura Zasly each scored 20 points.

 

DSC would lose the rebounding edge as well 32-28, but would commit less turnovers 26-21.
