BELMONT, CA- The Dixie state College Volleyball team concluded their weekend road trip to the San Francisco Bay area today by making short work of Notre Dame de Namur University. The Red Storm defeated the Argonauts 26-24, 25-13, 25-16.
Leading Dixie State with 14 kills was Senior OH
Katie Luna (Mesa. AZ, Westwood High '05, Scottsdale CC) followed by Freshman OH
Brita Noble (Taylorsville, UT, Taylorsville) 12 kills. The Red Storm hit an amazing .361 for the match, only commiting 7 kills. The team seems to be taking to Head Coach Gregg Jensen's philosphy the team with the least errors will win the match.
Dixie State did a great job at the nets tonight, with Sophomore Middle
Whitney Norton (Sandy. UT, Alta) collecting 2 solo blocks and 3 block assists. In all, the Red Storm collected 7 total blocks.
For Notre Dame de Namur (4-12, 2-1 PACWEST) Ashley Fox and Christin Villamayor each had 8 kills.
With the victory the Red Storm extend their winning streak to 4 games and remain undefeated at 4-0 in PacWest play an move to 10-3 overall.
Dixie State welcomes University of Hawaii Hilo who is undefeated on the season at 12-0 and is tied for first place with the Red Storm. The matches are scheduled for Friday night at 7PM and Saturday at 2PM.
