The Dixie State Women's Soccer team opened their season with a 1-0 victory over Cal State San Bernardino.

The two team battled back and forth for most of the match. Dixie State was able to control the ball and had many missed oppurtunities. The Red Storm out shot the Coyotes 12-10.

As the clock was winding down, DSC was able to capitalize on the fatigue of the visiting Coyotes. The temperature today registered 102 degrees.

In the 79th minute, Kalehua Harward (St George. UT, Dixie) crossed the ball to Robin Huddleston (Saint George, UT, Dixie) who shot from about 10 yards out. The goalie was able to deflect the shot and it rebounded to the open Lauren Minnick (Draper. UT, Alta) how tapped the game winning goal in.

Dixie State will have an off day on Saturday when Cal State San Bernardino takes on Montana State Billings at 12:00 at Hansen Stadium. The Red Storm will be back in action on Monday when they host MSB at 11:00 am at Hansen Stadium.
