Sophomore Brittnie Whipple picked up both the victories in relief.

Breanna Egge (Las Vegas. NV/Centennial High School) homered twice in the opener and drove in three RBIs. Dabney McIntyre (Taylorsville. UT/Taylorsville High School) went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs.

In the nightcap. McIntyre went 2-for-4 with a homer. two runs and a stolen base. Ashley McFarland (Layton. UT/Layton High School) went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Haley Schumers (Plain City. UT/Freemont High School) drove in a pair.

All told. DSC stole five bases. a pattern the team has no intention of breaking.

"We're definitely working on stealing bases every time we play." said Red Storm coach Beth Collett. "We have a lot of speed and feel the need to take full advantage of it."

In Game 2. DSC held a narrow 4-3 heading into the top of the seventh before putting up a six-spot.
