THE RECORDS: The Red Storm are 4-1 after winning the Dixie State Classic last weekend. DSC bested Northwest Nazarene 75-67 on Friday and defeated Montana State-Billings 78-75 on Saturday to win the classic outright. CSUDH is winless at 0-5 after a 51-43 loss on the road to The Master's College on Tuesday night.

RED STORM WATCH: Dixie State College has won two games in a row en route to winning the DSC Classic at home last weekend. Saturday's game at Dominguez Hills marks the second time this season the Red Storm will face a team they have already played. DSC split with Northwest Nazarene and face Montana State-Billings on 12/21 after defeating them at home. After scoring 36 points over the last two games, Tom Whitehead (St. George, UT/Dixie) now leads the team in scoring average at a 14.8 point per game clip. Andy Palmer (St. George. UT/Pine View) (13.0) and Donovan Plunkett (Oroville, CA/Las Plumas) (12.0) also average double figures through five games. Zach Robbins (Upland, CA/Upland) paces the club pulling down 6.8 rebounds a game with Palmer (5.6) and Whitehead (4.0) following. Dixie State averages 71.2 points a game shooting 45.7% FG while allowing 67.4 points to opponents.

SCOUTING CSU DOMINGUEZ HILLS: A year after making the NCAA Division-II Tournament, the 2009-2010 Toros of Dominguez Hills are winless through five games. Tuesday night, CSUDH lost on the road to The Master's College, an NAIA school in Santa Clarita, 51-43. Zareh Zargaryan led CSUDH with nine points and six rebounds. Junior guard John Staats paces the teams in scoring with 11 points per game. Forward Stephen Faulkner pulls down just fewer than six rebounds a game. Dominguez Hills is scoring 56.4 points a game on average shooting 36-percent field goals. Head coach Demaine Powell is in his sixth year on the bench after working previously at Compton College (head coach) and USC (assistant under Henry Bibby & Charles Parker). Powell played collegiately at USC under legendary coach George Raveling and at Long Beach City College.
