SAINT GEORGE, UT- On senior day and for the second straight match, Dixie State defeated Dominican University 25-18, 25-22, 25-22. Prior to today's match, DSC Athletics honored Seniors Katie Luna (Mesa. AZ/Westwood High '05) and Chelsi Dewitt (Mesa. AZ/Westwood). Each were given a framed jersey and a autographed volleyball from her team members. Once the match started, the Red Storm(15-7, 9-4) continued where they left off yesterday. Sophomore OH Alex Shearer (Park City. UT/Park City) led the DSC with 9 kills, followed by Katie Luna (Mesa. AZ/Westwood High '05) and Madisyn Fitzgerald (Mesa, AZ/Mountain View) with 8 each. Setter Dewitt added 28 assists and 14 digs. For the Penguins (6-21, 1-12) they were led by Gabby Pecora and Tianna Tuatagaloa with 8 kills a piece. With the victory the Red Storm maintain a tie for 2nd place in the PacWest Conference and with 2 games left to play.
