Box Score SAINT GEORGE, UT- The #5 Fort Lewis College Women's basketball team handed the Red Storm a 74-84 loss on Saturday afternoon at Burns Arena in the final game of the Dixie State Thanksgiving Classic.

Despite scoring a season high 19 points, Johnna Brown (Las Vegas, NV/Centennial ) could not lead the Red Storm to victory over the hot shooting Skyhawks. Fort Lewis shot a stellar 60% in the first half and finshed at 55% for the game. 

The Red Storm even outshot Fort Lewis by 21 shots and couldn't crack the shield of the Skyhawks. Dixie State finished the game shooting 36% from the floor. 

For most of the first half of the game the two teams traded leads untill Fort Lewis took over for good with 3:17 left in the first half. Dixie State took the 31-30 lead on a Megan Tidwell (Poway. CA/Poway) layup, but For Lewis finished the half on a 14-3 run to take a 44-34 lead at intermission.

Dixie State managed to cut it to four points in the second half when Amber Scruggs (Los Angeles, CA/Narbonne) hit a jumper with 9:49 remaining. It apperared the Red Storm would run out of steam and didnt have answer for the full court press of the Skyhawks and the post play of Allison Rosel (23 points).

Besides the play of Brown, the Red Storm had 15 points from Scruggs and Tanya Clark (Beaumont. CA/Beaumont) added 10 more. DSC won the rebounding edge 44-29.

Fort Lewis (8-0) had four players Rosel, Audrey George (17 points), Laura Hagen (11 points), and Katie Mackey (12 points). 

With the loss the Red Storm drop to 2-2 overall and will hit the road for the PacWest/GNAC challenge in Nampa, ID. Dixie State will play host school Northwest Nazarene on Friday evening at 7:30 PM and will then play Seattle Pacific University on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM.
