Red Storm blow by Seasiders

Hill and Luna lead Red Storm to victory

SAINT GEORGE, UT- Trying to recover from a stunning home loss last night to BYU-Hawaii, the Red Storm volleyball team got another chance to redeem its self tonight against the same Seasiders.  The Red Storm looked very lethargic last night, tonight was a different story.

The Red Storm (12-5, 6-2 PACWEST) appeared to have something to prove tonight and sent the visiting Seasiders (7-10, 4-4 PACWEST) away with a loss. DSC won the match 25-18, 30-28, and 25-20. It was its first win in history in eight chances over the perennial powerhouse of BYU-Hawaii.

DSC was led by the play of  middle Morgan Hill (Logan. UT, Logan). She led the Red Storm with 11 kills, and hit an amazing .786 for the night. She was followed by OH Katie Luna (Mesa. AZ, Westwood High '05, Scottsdale CC)who also had 11 kills.

The defense play of Jayci Jeffress (Brighton. CO, Brighton)sparked DSC, she collected 24 digs on the night. Also, making a spot start for the Red Storm was OH Jessica Hunt (Enterprise. UT, Enterprise)who collected a kill and a huge solo block in the second game of the match that helped the Red Storm close out the Seasiders.

BYU-Hawaii was again led Lisaline Faka'osi with 11 kills.

DSC will have 14 days off before they play again. They will make the long road trip to islands to play two matches each against Chaminade and Hawaii Pacific.
