Pomona. CA- The Dixie State College soccer team traveled today to take on Cal Poly Pomona in a non-conference tilt.

Dixie State started hot jumping to an early 2-0 lead that lasted into the 75th minute of the match. Thats when Pomona took advantage of two defenders being out and scored twice in a two minute span two tie the match at dueces.

Dixie State had its chances in the second OT when Erin Beeston (Edmond, OK/Edmond North) drove past a Pomona goalie took shot on goal that ricocheted off the goalie and was saved by a Pomona defender just before it crossed the goal line. The match ended in a 2-2 tie.

Dixie State was led by goals from Erika Mouritsen (Wellsville. UT/Mountain Crest HS '07) and Mikala Wilkes (Cedar Hills. UT/Lone Peak HS '06) who also earned assists of each others goals.

Dixie State will have an off day on Friday and will take on Cal-State San Bernardino on Saturday at 4PM.
