ST GEORGE. UT-Dixie State College welcomed Chaminade University to Old Gym tonight. Prior to tonight. Dixie State College is winless in over two years in volleyball against teams from the islands of Hawaii. With the help of Katy Luna. Amanda Goodell (Fort Collins. CO/Rocky Mtn HS '07). and Cami Johnson (Morgan. UT/Morgan HS '06). Dixie State pounded Chaminade 25-20. 25-17. and 25-19.

Luna had 11 kills. Johnson and Goodell each added 10.

Dixie State won a competitive first game. that saw Dixie leading 16-15 before pulling away to win game one. 25-20.  Game two was all Dixie as they got out to an early 6-0 lead and did not look back.  Chaminade responded in the third game. taking a 16-10 before Dixie State answered. tying the game at 18-18 and won seven of the last eight points for the three game sweep. 

Anna Bullard (Farmington. UT/Davis HS '07) had 39 assists in the win and Dixie State outdug Chaminade 56-38.

The win improves Dixie State to 4-7 and and gives them their first victory over an island school. With the loss. Chaminade moves to 8-7.

Dixie State will play host to Chaminade tomorrow night at 7PM in the Old Gym.
