ST GEORGE. UT-The Dixie State College Men's Basketball team tried to pick consecutive wins on consecutive nights. Tonight. Dixie State welcomed #12 ranked Central Washington University to the Burns Arena in front of 1.237 people.
Dixie State trailed at the half by a score of 31-29. Central Washington had a 51-43 lead. when coach Jon Judkins called a 30 second timeout with 10:02 to play in the second half. From that point. Dixie State rattled off 15 consectutive points. where Tom Whitehead (St. George, UT/Dixie) scored 11 of the 15 points. Dixie State ended up outscoring the Wildcats by 31-13 in the final 10 minutes of the game.
Dixie State (3-5) defeated the Wildcats(5-2) by a score of 74-64. Dixie State was led by four players in double figures. Dalton Groskruetz(14 points. 4 rebounds). Tom Whitehead (St. George, UT/Dixie) (12 points. 3 rebounds). Ryan Sanchez (Ogden. UT/Fremont) (12 points. 9 rebounds) and Andy Palmer (St. George. UT/Pine View) (11 points. 5 rebounds).
Central Washington's Johnny Spevak and Jake Baitinger added 15 points a piece.
Dixie State will have a week off before playing host to the San Francisco Academy of Arts on Dec 22nd. Tip off is slated for 7:30 PM in the Burns Arena.
