Box Score CHICO. Calif. – Jessie Ingraham (Tuscon. AZ/Canyon Del Oro) scored a season-high 19 points in a losing effort as Dixie State lost 70-63 to the Sonoma State Seawolves in the Coslet Classic on the campus of Cal State Chico.
Dixie State drops to a season mark of 1-3. Sonoma State improves to 3-0.
Ingraham made seven of 11 shots from the field and corralled four rebounds in her best game in a Dixie uniform. Reserve guard Sammi Griffiths (Orderville. UT/Valley) added 11 points in 27 minutes. Dixie shot 33.9 percent from the field for the game.
Sonoma State had four players reach double digits led by guard Olivia Larkin with 17. Lauren Redfield and Christy Shreve each had a dozen while Jaclyn Bisordi tallied 11. The Seawolves connected on 46.7 percent from the floor and took 21 more tries than DSC from the charity stripe (27-39 FT).
The Seawolves held the lead for the duration of the first half with the largest advantage reaching 15 with 7:21 left. Dixie used a 7-2 run over the final two minutes to close the gap to four at the half. 31-27.
DSC took their first lead. 32-31. at the 18:48 mark. The lead see-sawed over the next eight minutes before Sonoma State started to pull away. Larkin scored 15 of her 17 points in the second stanza including nine from the charity stripe.
The ladies of Dixie State will spend the Thanksgiving weekend in the Midwest. Saturday. Nov. 29. Dixie will face the University of South Dakota in Vermillion starting at 1:00pm Central. Two days later. the club will face the College of St. Mary on Monday. December 1 at 5:30pm Central.
