Nate Capps enters his first season as an assistant women's track coach at Dixie State. Capps previously served three seasons (2015-17) as an assistant coach for the DSU women’s volleyball program.
Prior to his arrival to DSU, he served as an assistant track coach at Idaho State University, where he oversaw the decathletes and hurdlers and was over recruiting from 2009-2014. While coaching track he also coached high school and club volleyball at Shelley High School and Pocatello’s Club Next program.
In 2013, he finished his Master’s degree in Sports Administration at ISU. Nate competed as a decathlete and hurdler for the Bengal track and field team. He became the Bengal to ever win the Big Sky Conference decathlon in three-straight seasons. In 2009, he was named Big Sky field athlete of the year, and finished 21st nationally in the decathlon.
A native of Jerome, Idaho, Nate is the son of Brian and Range Capps, and is the second of five siblings.
