Ryan Sanchez

Ryan Sanchez begins his sixth season in 2014-2015 serving on the Dixie State Men’s Basketball staff under Coach Judkins, and his second as the lead assistant.
 
Sanchez is involved in all operations of the program, including recruiting, scouting, scheduling, academic monitoring, individual skill development, on-the-court coaching, and summer camps.
 
In the five seasons prior to 2014-2015, Sanchez helped lead the Red Storm to a 105-34 overall record (.755). During his time as assistant coach, the Red Storm won four regular season Pacific West Conference Championships (2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13), the inaugural Pacific West Conference Tournament in the 2012-13 season, and made five consecutive NCAA West Regional Tournament appearances (2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14). Sanchez also helped lead the Red Storm to their first ever appearance in the Sweet 16 during the 2010-11 season.
 
Prior to his time coaching, Sanchez played three seasons for Dixie State under Judkins. Sanchez was a two-time All-PacWest performer, named team captain for the 2008-09 season, and scored 1,052 career points – a DSU Division II record. Prior to his arrival at Dixie State, Sanchez played one season at USU-Eastern.
 
A 2005 graduate of Fremont High School in Plain City, Utah, Sanchez was a three-year varsity starter for the Silverwolves. During his time at Fremont, Sanchez helped lead the Silverwolves to two region championships, three state tournament appearances, and a 5A state championship in 2005. Sanchez was a two time all-state performer, and was named the Utah 5A Most Valuable Player in 2005.
 
Sanchez graduated from Dixie State in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
 
He and his wife, Lindy, reside in Washington, Utah.
