Joe Andrade, one of three players to earn a share of the Pacific West Conference Baseball Player of the Year, is the 2011-2012 Dixie State College Male Athlete of the Year.
Andrade had a stellar year for the Red Storm - he completed the regular season by hitting .330 in 49 games and 48 starts for the Red Storm. He had 58 base hits, 28 runs scored, 15 doubles, 44 runs batted in, four homers, 16 walks and a .483 slugging rate.
He added a critical home run against UC San Diego in the NCAA Division-II West Regional, the first appearance for Dixie State in program history.
Andrade earned all-league and all-West region honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and the American Baseball Coaches Association.
