For leading the Dixie State Football team to its highest single-game offensive production in NCAA-era history, sophomore QB Hayden Gavett is our inaugural 2014-15 Male Athlete of the Week, presented by Northwestern Mutual.

Gavett threw for 339 yards with two TDs and ran for an addiitonal 74 yards, including a rushing TD. His efforts garnered him GNAC Honorable Mention for Week 1.

This is Gavett's first Athlete of the Week honor in his Dixie State career.

HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Spencer Anderson (MSOC) - Named PacWest Defender of the Week. In the season-opener against Cal Poly Pomona, Anderson made a career-best 10 saves to preserve a scoreless draw for Dixie in 110 minutes of action.
Colton Peterson and Myles Burton (FB) - Each tailback rushed for over 100 yards at CMU to help the Storm to its second-best rushing performance (301 yards).
Nick Watson (XC) - Was the Red Storm's top runner at the George Kyte Invitational at NAU, finishing the 4.5 mile race in 24:37.8 to finish ninth in the open division.
