Tossing a three-hit shutout for his second consecutive complete game earn junior right-hander John Conquy this week’s Dixie State Male Athlete of the Week Award, presented by Northwestern Mutual.
Conquy held the Cal State L.A. to three singles over nine innings of work last Friday in the second game of a non-conference doubleheader. He struck out a season-high seven batters en route to his seventh win. Conquy has allowed one earned run over his last 18 innings, lowering his ERA to 2.10 – a best among Red Storm starters.
For Conquy, this is his first Athlete of the Week award.
