For tossing a complete game effort against Hawaii Hilo, senior pitcher Kort Christoffersen has been named the Dixie State Male Athlete of the Week, presented by Northwestern Mutual, for March 24-31.
In 82 pitches, Christoffersen threw nine innings of one run, five-hit baseball against the Vulcans in a 6-1 Red Storm victory. He struck out three and did not allow a walk. Christoffersen also induced 16 groundball outs. The victory evened his record to 2-2 on the year and dropped his season ERA to 5.40.
For Kort, this is his first Athlete of the Week award this year.
