For leading Dixie State to five straight match wins in a six-match stretch in Mesa, Ariz., Dixie State junior tennis player Stormy Dvorak has been named the Northwestern Mutual Female Athlete of the Week.
Dvorak shined in singles and doubles matches. Her only loss of the week came in #1 doubles action against Dallas Baptist, 8-5. After that, Dvorak won every single match. She picked up a win in #3 singles against DBU in a tie-breaker. She swept through five wins in #1 doubles with Summer Child and notched victory in five singles matches playing as the #1. She blanked her opponent from Southwest Minnesota State (6-0, 6-0).
Dixie State tennis is enjoying their best season to date, with an overall match record of 10-7.
For Dvorak, this is her first Athlete of the Week award.
