Michelle Duncan shined in three outing during the 2014 Desert Stinger Tournament in Las Vegas to earn this week's Northwestern Mutual Female Athlete of the Week.

Duncan made four starts in a busy week for the Red Storm. After taking a loss in her season debut to MSU Billings, she shut down three opponents in Vegas. Against CSU Pueblo, Duncan threw five scoreless frames while striking out four in an 8-0 run-rule win. The next day, she scattered two unearned runs in the Storm's 7-5 win over Colorado Springs. Duncan then blanked CSU San Bernardino over six innings in another 8-0 win.

This is Duncan's first weekly honor this year.

HONARABLE MENTIONS:
- Nicole Chavez (SB): hitting .429 from the leadoff spot for the Storm.
- Haley Holmstead (WBB): lit up the nets for 38 points in the Storm's home win over Holy Names
