PHOENIX, AZ - For the second straight time, Dixie State senior outside hitter Katie Luna (Mesa, AZ/Westwood) has been named the Pacific West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Sept. 28, for matches contested from Sept. 21-27.

Luna led the Red Storm to a 2-0 mark in the Bay Area with wins over NDNU and Academy of Art. She led the PacWest in scoring average for the week, posting 5.75 points per game, while her kills per game (4.83) ranked second in the league. She posted 34.5 points on 29 kills, four aces and three block assists.

Luna also was outstanding with her hitting, registering a .364 average that tied her for fourth-best in the league for the week. Her 0.67 aces-per-game average was good enough for seventh.
